Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Arkansas State University (1995). Executive MBA in Leadership for Digital Transformation from HEC Paris – Doha Campus (2020). Additional executive education in Management and Leadership from INSEAD (2018–2019), Harvard Business School (2015), London Business School (2011), and Chartered Manager Institute (CMI Level 7).

Background and Experience
Tariq Ateeq has over 27 years of experience in the banking sector, specializing in retail banking, digital transformation, operations, and corporate banking. He began his career at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (1995). He held various leadership positions at Doha Bank and Bank Muscat, where he was responsible for cards, eBanking, international operations, and digital transformation.

Between 2021 and 2024, he served as Chief Retail & Digital Officer at the National Bank of Oman, leading digital channels and customer experience. He was a member of Visa International’s Board for Central Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific from 2015 to 2018, and served as a Board Director at Movenpick Hotel JBR Dubai between 2018 and 2021.

Since 2024, he has been Chief Operating Officer at the same institution, overseeing operational strategy, legal affairs, asset recovery, and facilities management.
Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Board of African Bank of Oman (ABO).
